NASA/Boeing/McDonnel-Douglas X-36

This unmanned, sub-scale flying model did a huge amount of research for the "Tailess Agility Program", and is quite remarkable to look at. This ultra-simple 3D model was originally built in Carrara, and has been updated via MODO. There are few details, and so this makes a nice low-poly background model.

Model Features:

  • Exterior is semi-scale - Close enough for visualization
  • Control surfaces not modeled
  • Landing gear is roughly scale, but not super-detailed
  • No interior parts, aside from inlet ducting
