Luxology - Home of "MODO" 3d modeling software
I transitioned to this software in September of 2008, and absolutely love it. The product, company, and community are a great group of people. Thank you, Luxology!
Adobe - Resistance is futile... (Great applications for graphic artists)
If you're doing either 2D or 3D graphics, you'll find it handy to at least purchase "Photoshop" or "Photoshop Elements", and possibly other Adobe applications.
Wacom- Pen tablets, and the Cintiq
A lot of the applications we use for graphics work can be made better with a pen tablet. If you haven't already made this move, check them out.
